Action 3 Vet Injection: Each ml injection contains Meloxicam BP 20 mg & Paracetamol BP 150 mg.
Description
Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of oxicam family. It acts by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, thereby exerting anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative, analgesic and antipyretic properties. Meloxicam has anti-endotoxic properties too. Paracetamonl is an analgesic agent. It reduces fever by depressing the heat regulatory centres in the hypothalamus.
Indications
Inflammation, pain, fever, lameness, dehorning & castration. It is also used as supportive therapy in acute respiratory infection, diarrhea, acute mastitis etc.
Dosage & Administration
For intramuscular/subcutaneous/intravenous administration-
1 ml/40 kg body weight or 0.5 mg/kg body weight as a single dose.
Or as Directed by the registered Veterinarian
Side Effects
A slight transient swelling at the injection site following SC injection may be seen. Prolong use may cause gastrointestinal lesions, inappetance, vomiting and diarrhoea.
Precautions
Do not administer concurrently with steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (SAID) & other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID).
Use in Pregnancy & Lactation
Not recommended for use in pregnant or lactating animals.
Drug Interaction
May cause increased likelihood of bleeding if use in conjunction with corticosteroids, heparin, warferin, aspirin, flunixin & phenylbutazone.
Over Dose
Chronic toxicity may damage liver, intestine and lungs.
Withdrawal Period
Meat :15 days
Milk : 5 days.
Storage
Do not store above 30 °C, avoid freezing. Store the vial in the carton to protect from light. Keep out of the reach of children.
