How to use Soneta 5gm
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
How Soneta 5gm works
Soneta 5gm is a steroid. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy.
What if you forget to take Soneta 5gm?
If you miss a dose of Soneta 5gm, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Quick Tips
  • Soneta 5gm is used to treat the redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort of various skin conditions.
  • It should be applied to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor.
  • Do not use it more often or for longer than advised by your doctor.
  • Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
  • If you think the area of skin you are treating has become infected you should stop using Soneta 5gm and consult your doctor.
  • Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after 2 weeks of treatment.

Contraindication
The drug is contraindicated in individuals with a history of sensitivity reactions to Mometasone or any of the components of the preparation.
Mode of Action
Mometasone depresses the formation, release and activity of endogenous inflammatory chemical mediators (e.g. kinins, histamine, liposomal enzymes and prostaglandin). It inhibits the margination and subsequent cell migration to the injury site, reverses vascular dilatation and permeability, resulting in decreased access of cells to the area of injury.

Side Effect
Burning, Pruritus, Itching, Rosacea and skin atrophy may occur.
Interaction
Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g. ketoconazole) may increase systemic exposure of mometasone.
